PLS (Passenger Lift Services), a Mobility Networks company and leading specialist in vehicle wheelchair access lifts, has appointed David Cunliffe as its new Technical Lift Sales Manager to support the UK coach and bus sector.
David, 51 from Bolton, brings a wealth of relevant experience to PLS and will be delivering a nationwide service focused on the needs of fleet operators. David’s most recent position before joining PLS involved direct sales for MAN Truck and Bus Ltd, focusing on bus and coach sales. He has over 35 years experience in the sector and has extensive sales and engineering contacts with leading brands such as Ford, Mercedes, Iveco, Renault and Volkswagen. This career move represents a significant step for David as he now joins the UK’s leading specialist in accessible, powered lifts for coaches, buses, CT and PTS vehicles. He will be primarily responsible for listening, engaging and responding to the needs of coach operators so their accessibility requirements are met more effectively.
David began his career within the family’s business in 1979, W.B. Cunliffe – coach builders based in Lancashire. Over a period of 25 years he developed from the shop floor with a comprehensive knowledge of manufacturing, through to sales director in 1992. He became responsible for a wide variety of aspects within the business including production management, R&D, stock sourcing and meeting the precise requirements of customers. This role was followed by positions at Frank Guy Ltd, PPS Commercials Ltd and Wilker UK Ltd. David now brings all this knowledge and expertise to PLS for the benefit of its existing and potential customers.
