TGA Mobility’s Safe Mobility Scooter Driving Awareness Day Proves Popular and Attracts ITV Anglia

TGA, the leading specialist for quality mobility scooters and independent living products, has successfully hosted its latest free safe driving awareness day – attended by high visitor numbers and ITV Anglia.

This popular event gave mobility scooter users and prospective owners the opportunity to learn the latest tips regarding safe driving. TGA provided a comprehensive test track outside its independent living showroom which encompassed a variety of ramps, cones and obstacles to simulate challenges encountered in real-life. This free-to-attend educational experience aimed to build greater awareness of the Highway Code whilst enhancing confidence and safety. Several charities and companies were in attendance including Parkinson’s UKMS SocietyMacmillan and Rehab United along with Police officers from the local constabulary. In addition to the large number of existing and potential scooter users in attendance, TGA were delighted to welcome Kate Prout from ITV Anglia who was currently using a scooter due to a broken foot. A reporter from the national magazine Disabled Motoring UK (DMUK) also came along to discover more about this latest safety initiative from TGA.

Goodwood F1 Crash Survivor & TGA Mobility Scooter Owner Receives International Motorsport Marshaling Award

PictureWheelchair-user Steve Tarrant, 55 from King’s Stag in Dorset, has achieved an international marshalling award for his 30-years of endurance motorsport officiating – made possible by ownership of an ‘orange racing style’ TGA Vita mobility scooter.

Steve was involved in a highly publicised accident in 2000 when an F1 racing car collided with him at over 100mph whilst he was marshalling on the finish line at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Steve lost a leg and suffered multiple injuries however he managed to miraculously pull through this terrible accident and has since continued to marshal internationally at events such as the Le Mans 24 Hours. In addition to his motorsport commitments, Steve has been a medal bearer at the Olympics and Paralympics and received a Big Society Award from David Cameron. He owns a TGA Vita 4 to remain mobile at various motorsport events and has attempted two world records on a Breeze mobility scooter with the support of TGA.

The national mobility scooter specialist TGA has won the prestigious Customer Service Team of the Year Award once more at the recent British Healthcare Trades Association (BHTA) Annual Awards Dinner, Grange St. Paul’s Hotel, London.

The BHTA is the UK’s largest healthcare association with all of its members adhering to a Trading Standards Code of Conduct. This means customers of member companies, such as TGA, can rest assured that they will receive professional support and service. The BHTA Annual Awards Dinner was a glamorous black-tie affair attended by key figures within the healthcare sector and proceeding were hosted by BBC journalist and celebrity Bill Turnbull.

TGA has now achieved the Customer Service Team of the Year Award twice in a matter of a few years. This follows additional success in 2014 when its scooter puncture sealant won the BHTA Independent Living Product category. TGA’s latest success once again highlights its commitment to providing customers with assured independence and peace of mind. TGA won by receiving the largest number of customer satisfaction nominations from the public who highlighted the superb service they had received. 30 individual members of staff within TGA, from a range of departments, were specifically mentioned for their diligence and pro-active attitude. Essex Man With Spinal Injury Enjoys Outdoor Life on TGA Vita Midi

TGA_Vita_Mobility_ScooterRobin Kettle, 54 who lives near Harwich in Essex, is a successful entrepreneur, retired motorcyclist, website promoter and disabled access auditor. As an active wheelchair user he enjoys greater outdoor freedom thanks to the smoother ride offered by his newly acquired TGA Vita 4 mobility scooter.

Robin has been a full time wheelchair user as a result of a spinal injury he sustained after a motorcycle accident which occurred in 1976. He lives with his wife and three Jack Russell’s who join him for journeys outdoors on his new eye-catching, TGA Vita Midi.
